Cornerstone UMC Youth

At Cornerstone UMC, we believe our youth are not just the future of the church—they are an important part of the church today.

Our goal is to create opportunities for students to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and discover how God can use their gifts to make a difference in the world.

Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings, all middle and high school youth are encouraged to attend or help during the 9a classic or 11a modern worship services.

Serving in worship helps youth grow as leaders, strengthen their faith, and gain valuable experiences they can carry into future opportunities—from college applications to lifelong discipleship.

There are many ways to get involved on Sunday mornings, including:

  • Playing a musical instrument

  • Singing with the choir or praise team

  • Helping with audio-visual production (slides, video, audio, lighting, etc.)

  • Greeting and welcoming guests

  • Collecting the offering

  • Reading scripture or saying a prayer

  • Help with younger children in the Kids JAM program at 11a

Special Youth Events

About once a quarter, Cornerstone UMC hosts fun and exciting events designed for connection and belonging. These quarterly events provide memorable, faith-forming experiences that fit naturally into the rhythms of student life today.

Subscribe to the Weekend Update e-newsletter to stay informed about upcoming youth events.

Confirmation

Students in 7th through 12th grades are invited to participate in Cornerstone UMC’s Confirmation program. It is an opportunity for young people to explore the Christian faith alongside other youth in a fun, relevant, and engaging way. If you’re interested in your child being confirmed, please contact Rev. Jim Peich.

Youth Safety

Cornerstone UMC follows a program called Safe Gatherings. Adult leaders go through background screenings, reference checks, as well as specialized training to help ensure the safety and protection of all minors. Our policy is that an adult should never be alone with a minor during church-sponsored activities.

Volunteer with Youth

If your an adult who would like to volunteer with Cornerstone Youth, the first step is to become Safe Gatherings Certified. This process is completed online through Safe Gatherings. After that is complete, please contact youth@csofallon.org for next steps.

Questions?

If you have any questions or there’s something our adult leaders can do to help, please reach out to Jarrod or Casie at youth@csofallon.org.
